The Eurasian Blackbird is a widespread thrush of forests, farmland and towns across Europe and western Asia. It searches the ground with a characteristic run-and-pause motion and is also known for the male's rich, fluting song.

ID tip: Adult males are black with a yellow bill and eye-ring; females are dark brown with a mottled throat. Juveniles are warmer brown and heavily mottled across the breast and upperparts.
