
The Varied Thrush is a stocky forest thrush of the Pacific coast and northwestern North America. It usually feeds on or near the ground beneath dense cover, taking invertebrates in summer and more fruit and seeds outside the breeding season. Adults combine slate-gray and orange with a dark breast band, while juveniles are browner and heavily spotted.
