The drive out to the sea, and the first stop already produced two new birds: a Turkey Vulture rocking over the road on its dihedral, and an Orange-crowned Warbler, a species whose entire identification consists of the absence of any marks at all. A dull day, cool and windy, which suits neither photographs nor small birds. Eighteen frames.

Turkey Vulture at Burrows Road. A record shot: flat evening light on a black bird, and the eye never resolved. It is here because the bird was new, not because the photograph is good.
