Euphagus cyanocephalus

Brewer's Blackbird is a medium-sized western blackbird that usually walks rather than hops on the ground. Males are glossy black with a purple head, green body and pale yellow eye. Females are plain brown with a dark eye. The species feeds on insects, seeds and other food in fields, parks, shorelines and urban areas. It often nests in loose colonies and gathers in larger flocks outside the breeding season.
