The Dalmatian Pelican is one of the world's largest flying birds. Its fragmented range extends from southeastern Europe through western and central Asia, where it uses large wetlands for feeding, roosting and colonial nesting.

ID tip: It is a huge pale pelican with curly nape feathers, grey legs and a long bill. Adults usually show a grey-white body and orange-red pouch in breeding condition; young birds are duller grey-brown.
