The Eurasian Spoonbill is a large white wetland bird found from western Europe and Africa across central and southern Asia. It feeds by sweeping its flattened bill from side to side through shallow water.

ID tip: The long flat spoon-shaped bill is diagnostic. Unlike a heron it flies with the neck fully extended; breeding adults may show a yellow breast patch and a shaggy crest.
