Little Ringed Plover

The Little Ringed Plover is a small freshwater plover that breeds on open gravel and bare mud across Europe, Africa and Asia. It feeds with the typical plover rhythm of short runs, sudden stops and quick pecks.

ID tip: Breeding adults show a bright yellow eye-ring, a narrow black bill and a complete black breast-band. Unlike Common Ringed Plover it lacks a bold white wing-bar in flight and has flesh-coloured rather than orange legs.
