Carkeek Park

Carkeek Park from the top down, working the slope to the water. The upper part is fine old forest, and it behaves like it: a great deal heard and little of it seen. The exception was a pair of Hairy Woodpeckers working a trunk close enough to ignore me entirely. Down at the shore the picture changed completely: a sizeable gull colony and several seabirds new to the list. Seven new species, and the day that made the difference between the woods and the water obvious.
